Abt Dual Brush

In Search of the Ideal Brush Tip

In 1984, multicolor water-based graphic markers based on brush pens were just beginning to appear on the market.
At that time, most brush pens were made of rubber, which made an unpleasant creaking sound and made it difficult to control the amount of ink used, making it difficult to draw the desired line.

Against this backdrop, ABT was developed by fundamentally reviewing the dissatisfaction with conventional graphic markers.
Through thorough research into the materials and structure of the nib, we created a nib made of a bundle of special nylon fibers that are highly elastic, resulting in a nib with a touch that is as good as that of a brush and ideal for graphic work.
The delicate nib can be used to draw both thick and thin lines, and the density of the ink does not change even when drawing long lines, resulting in a wonderful writing feel.
The other side of the nib is set with a hard nib for fine strokes that specializes in drawing fine leads, and the pen is finished with a twin head,
The twin-headed pen was born as the Dual Brush Pen ABT.

As the name implies, ABT has begun to attract attention in Europe, the U.S., and other countries around the world, not only as a professional painting medium, but also in the more familiar art scene.
Since around 2009, ABT has been highly supported especially by people who enjoy the “fascinating art with letters,” which is called “hand lettering.
ABT's flexible brush-like touch allows the user to draw thick, thin, strong, and delicate lines as desired, and its vivid, beautiful, and versatile inks have attracted attention, making it a favorite of many letterers.
Today, many works drawn with ABT using various techniques have been published on social networking sites, and the ABT circle is now spreading around the world.

Now, ABT has gone global and is once again gaining attention in the Japanese art scene.
Beginning with the popularity of hand lettering, ABT has evolved into a fun way to use ABT in other fields such as journals, planners, and even manga, one of the most popular forms of Japanese culture.
In 2018, ABT has added 108 new colors to its lineup, allowing for more colorful, creative, and versatile expression of the imagination.
ABT will continue to evolve with the times and alongside people in the art world.
