Japanese oil paints were once regarded by leading artists as lacking sufficient working properties. Under the guidance of the late Shintaro Yamashita and Kanosuke Okada, both renowned oil painters and authorities on oil paint research, Matsuda devoted extensive research and development to create Super Oil Colors.

The pigments were carefully selected from among thousands of high-grade pigments, and poppy oil is used as the medium for every color. As a result, Super Oil Colors offer excellent resistance to discoloration and fading over time. They have been used by many artists for decades and continue to be valued by professional painters today.
