What is Resable?
Resable: A brush that surpasses traditional standards.
Resable is Holbein’s original artist brush, featuring synthetic fibers that have each undergone special treatment, blended with natural animal hair suited to various applications. Since natural sable hair—traditionally considered high-grade—is rare and expensive, we have specially treated individual nylon fibers to replicate the feel and the cohesive tip of a sable brush.
Resable fibers feature surface irregularities called "water spots," which are similar to the "cuticles" (stepped scales) found on natural hair. This addresses the common issue of insufficient paint capacity found in other synthetic fibers. By mixing multiple base fibers of different thicknesses (as fine as 0.05mm), we have improved paint capacity, adding further suppleness and elasticity to the cohesive and resilient Resable base fibers.
